DESCRIPTION:As the season of gratitude and giving approaches\, Prince of Peace is once again honored to participate in the City of Gaithersburg’s Holiday Giving Program. This Thanksgiving\, our congregation will support six families by providing all the traditional fixings for a festive meal\, along with grocery store gift cards so they can purchase additional items of their choosing. \n  \nWe will not receive our families’ names until the beginning of November. \n  \nThere will be many meaningful ways to contribute. Our first opportunity to help is for volunteers to serve as family contacts—reaching out to learn about any special dietary needs or requests. DESCRIPTION:Please join POP as we host an all-ages interfaith Juneteenth\, or slavery emancipation celebration on Monday\, June 19 from 6:30-7:30 pm in the Sanctuary and Fellowship Hall. Along with members from Fairhaven Methodist\, Shaare Torah Synagogue\, Poplar Grove Baptist Church\, St Nicholas Episcopal Church\, Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints\, and Kentlands Ward\, we’ll celebrate with gospel songs from Fairhaven\, education\, and fellowship. Emancipation Day\, or Juneteenth\, is the oldest known celebration of the ending of slavery. Come and meet members of many faith communities\, eat at an ice cream social\, and also learn more about the Pleasant View historical site next door. Let’s celebrate with our neighbors freedom in the US. Great for kids and all ages.

DESCRIPTION:On Sunday\, June 12\, the quilts will be blessed and dedicated! You are invited to be a bigger part of the donation of quilts to Lutheran World Relief from our church. One quilt will be in the narthex\, ready to be tied. We are inviting everyone to help us finish it by tying the knots that hold it together. In addition\, for those who want to see/help/learn more about how we make our quilts\, there is an opportunity in the Fellowship Hall after the Sunday service on June 12.
