Care and Serve...

Prince of Peace always has a variety of ways to serve others in Jesus' name through donations of goods, time and money.

We seek to serve others in our congregation, our local community and throughout our nation and our world. While we have many activities and projects, a few of our major emphases include:

...in our Congregation

Our Care Team is made up of Prince of Peace members who work together to help those in our congregation who are sick, coming home from the hospital or in some kind of special need. Together with our Pastors, they insure that Christian care and love is an emphasis of the whole congregation.

Caring for Creation

is important to Prince of Peace. We have 3 community gardens, buy clean wind energy for our church building, and our Creation Care Team helps to educate us on ways we can better care for the creation God has given us.

...in our Community

Gaithersburg HELP is an important partner in our service to our local community. Prince of Peace provides food, financial support and volunteers throughout the year.

Habitat for Humanity is an important way that we reach out to help our local community. We partner with Habitat to build and restore homes in our area.

...in our World

The ELCA World Hunger Appeal is one of the important ways we help those in our nation and throughout the world who are need of food and development assitance. Prince of Peace also donates money and enjoys raising additional awareness and funds through participating in Lutheran World Relief's Fair Trade Coffee Project!

Quilters gather each Tuesday at Prince of Peace to make quilts which are donated through Lutheran World Relief and Church World Service. These quilts are used for a variety of purposes and are distributed to victims of natural disasters thoughout the United States and the world.
